So idk, if I’ve mentioned this (I haven’t), but my mom is taking me TO HAWAII FOR MY GRADUATION PRESENT IN TWO WEEKS!!!!!!!!!!!
So that (unfortunately) means hitting the Jillian Michaels exercise DVD every day AND thanks to Pinterest: researching flattering ways to dress up and down swimwear, cuz at mid-February, I am not exactly at my most beach-ready.
SO! Some things that I’ve learned:
- First and foremost, accessories are a MUST. And the more the merrier: Earrings, hats, sunglasses scarves, belts, etc. [accessories note: big honka earrings(!!]) and bold bangles]

- Prints prints prints. Excellent for distracting from trouble areas.

And idk if you know but, mix matching prints = A-OK! [accessories note: sunglasses, earrings, necklace, big chunky bracelets]

- Stripes are way in. And there’s nothing more flattering than a vertical stripe.
- Black is always classic and of course, slimming. [accessories note: floppy hat, gold necklace]

[accessories note: hair flower, hoop earrings, stacked bangles]

- NEW TREND: The Denim Shirt. Perfect as an alone top, a cover-up, a layering piece, a light jacket.. whatever you need it to be. [accessories note: necklace, lotsa bracelets and a ring]

- Comfortable coverage is key. First you have to know your shape (apple? pear?) so you can dress accordingly. Love your arms but wanna hide your tummy? How bout a tube dress! Don’t forget to accessorize! [accessories note: floppy hat, big chunky necklace, wooden bangles, and a ring]

- Cover-ups: I’m gonna take a note from Kim Kardashian and take one of these mini sarongs with me everywhere. Easy tie-waist for booty coverage whenever needed.

Aaaaand that’s what I’ve learned so far! Fingers crossed I can take this new-found knowledge and actually APPLY it so that I’ll have some decent outfits to show off when it comes time to post the vaca photos to facebook!
