Wizarding World of Harry Potter Details Revealed

1. Lol @ Disney Vault posting Harry Potter stuff.

2. I heard when I worked there (at Universal Studios in Florida) that it will be snowing every day all day in Hogsmeade, which I thought was pretty cool.

3. Do NOT get your hopes up for the rides. I’ve ridden both Dueling Dragons aka “The Dragon Challenge” and The Flying Unicorn aka “Flight of the Hippogriff” and they’re both very amusement park. (As in NOT “Theme Park” - big diff) If you ask me they should’ve ripped off Disney’s “Soarin’” for a Hippogriff ride, since they’ve already ripped off pretty much every other Disney World ride already.

4. Now as for Hogwarts.. According to the NYTimes article yesterday, the castle will “be about 150-feet tall but will appear to tower some 600 feet in the air because of architectural and filmmaking tricks.” Cinderella’s Castle at Walt Disney World is 189 feet, to put that into perspective for you.

5. There’s also supposed to be some sort of ‘main attraction’ inside the castle, “Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey” which “takes guests through scenes inspired by the Potter books and films.” I’m just hoping it’s not like the Winnie the Pooh ride in Fantasyland, taking us through the pages as we watch animatronics act out familiar scenes.

My husband, vamping and being generally adorable on the subway after picking me up from the airport, just so he could spend an hour with me before I took off for the Britney Spears concert (all together: awww!). Seriously, having someone pick you up at the airport is the Best. Feeling. Ever.

I am in love with this lady’s husband. I hate it when that happens. And I know exactly what she means about being picked up from the airport. Butterflies.

I serve steamed artichokes with Lemon Butter, which you make by reducing the juice of 1 lemon over low heat for a few minutes, and then adding 3/4 stick of butter (I know, I know…) cut into pieces. Allow to melt, and pour directly into a little serving dish like the one you see here, which I bought in Chinatown years ago.

I prepare the melted butter about fifteen minutes before I’m planning on serving it, because I like it to thicken just a little (so more grabs onto the artichoke leaves when you dip them).

My grandma used to make artichokes for us every time she’d come visit. I can’t wait to have a stove again I am so making this a regular thing.
